On the way to Mather Point - March 14, 2017

We drove from Desert Tower along the south rim road to get to the Grand Canyon Village. Its really the only road. It generally hugged the rim, with frequent places to stop (only place for small number of cars to park, so this place must be a mess during peak season) to take in the view. Each view was more impressive than the next. As we went further into the Canyon complex, the canyon got deeper. And more jagged. The highlight of the village vista is Mather Point, a very popular spot. As we will see. It was named after the first National Parks commissionar.
